The Supreme Court of Virginia’s Oral History Program began in 2007 as a project of the now-inactive Supreme Court of Virginia Historical Commission, which was created by Chief Justice Leroy R. Hassell, Sr. Since then, the Virginia State Law Library has conducted and preserved oral history interviews of Virginia justices, judges, court staff, and others.
Complete audio recordings and transcripts of the interviews are available below, and short video clips of interview highlights can be found here. For more information, contact the Virginia State Law Library.
